Sansom initially was involved in Commercial Bay, the first stage of CRL. This involved encapsulating the two rail tunnels that converge beneath Queen Elizabeth 2 Square and then re-emerge as a single tunnel towards Albert Street.
To ensure complete isolation of the tunnel system, Sansom utilised an advanced system comprising Sikaproof A, Sikaproof P, and Sikaplan Roof, along with compartmentalised Sika PVC rearguards, Sika Fuko injection hoses, and Sika Waterstops.
This isolation was crucial for minimising vibration transfer from train movements to the structure above.
