At Sansom, we pride ourselves on tackling complex, large-scale projects with precision and innovation. As Scott Johnston, our tanking Contract Manager, explains, we’re currently waterproofing ten service pits designed to accommodate Boeing planes and engines at a major hangar.

Scott shares, ‘It’s one of those jobs that’s easy to get right and easy to get wrong. We’re only going to get one shot at getting the pits waterproofed, and we can’t afford for it not to work. We’ve introduced new systems to handle the complex penetration details of 500 thick walls, ensuring a robust solution.’

He adds, ‘It’s always nice to be involved in large-scale projects, even at a smaller scope. You can always hang your hat on having had a decent involvement. Whatever comes out on the original details is not always correct, and when you’re dealing with companies like NZ Strong that are happy to listen to industry experts, they work with us to get it changed to a better solution.’

Scott concludes, ‘We’re doing something new. There was a better, new solution to the problem. We put in the work, got it across the line and are now executing. It’s always good to deliver what you promise. We talk a big game but back it up with the end product.’
